SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) is an examination conducted to recruit staff to various posts in ministries, departments and organizations of the Government of India. It is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for selecting staff for various Group B and Group C posts. Notification
The SSC has released SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) 2018 notification on 05th May 2018 on its official website. The SSC CGL 2018 Online registration is opened till 4th June 2018. SSC CGL 2018 Tier-I exam will be conducted from 25th July to 20th Aug 2018. Further examination details will be notified later.

Eligibility Criteria
Citizenship- Candidate must be a citizen of India.
Educational Qualifications- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent. Candidates; those are in the final year of graduation can also apply for SSC CGL with their provisional degrees.
i) Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer:
a) Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute
b) Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters I Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
ii) Junior Statistical Officer:
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

The examination consists of a Preliminary Examination followed by a Main examination. Earlier it also used to have interviews, but following a government order, interviews have been dispensed off for all non- gazetted posts in the central government. A computer proficiency test or a skill test will also be held for some posts.
Tier 1 Preliminary Examination
The preliminary examination will be out of 200 marks. It will have 4 sections, which have to be completed in a total time of 60 minutes (from CGL 2017). It is a computer based multiple choice examination with total number of 100 questions.

Tier 2 Main Examination
The main examination will also have four sections. Section 1 and 2 will be compulsory for all candidates who have qualified. Section 3 and 4 are only for candidates who have applied for special posts. It is also a computer based multiple choice examination. (120 minutes/2 hour of each subject).

Tier 3 Descriptive Exam
SSC has also decided to add a paper based descriptive paper which can be attempted in English or Hindi for Essay, Letter writing. This paper replaced the interview of 100 marks. (Carry total 100 Marks with 1 Hour duration). The qualifying marks in Tier-3 would be 33 percent.
Tier 4 DEST/CPT
Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) or a Computer Proficiency test (CPT) (Wherever Applicable) Test will also be held for some positions. (Duration 45minutes)

Application Form 2018
The SSC CGL 2018 online application began from 05.05.2018 and the application expiration date is 04.06.2018 (till 5:00 pm). You can visit the SSC official website and apply on the apply section. The application must be submitted through online mode only. The examination is being held for multiple posts with different qualifications and other requirements. The candidate is required to indicate his posts wise preference very carefully.
Application fee
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/ Ex-Servicemen candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/-

Selection Procedure
SSC CGL exam will be conducted in four stages – tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 and tier 4.
1. Tier 1- Online Test
2. Tier 2- Online Test
3. Tier 3- Descriptive Test
4. Tier 4- Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) /Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), Document verification and Physical Standards Examination. (for the posts of Inspector or Sub Inspector in Central Excise/ Examiner/ Preventive Officer / CBN/ CBI/ NIA)
The final merit list as per the SSC CGL 2017 Selection Procedure will be arrived in the following manner.
The final merit of the successful candidates will be determined on the basis of their total score in Tier-1, Tier-2 and Tier-3.
SSC will draw an All India Merit List for each category to recommend candidates for various posts.
Letter of appointments to the shortlisted candidates will be given based on their post preferences and ranks.
All candidates who qualify in the provisional allotment and also clear the Document Verification and other post specific tests, if required, are finally selected for respective posts. Such candidates are provided the joining letter and thus are hired on probation basis. This results in the completion of the SSC CGL selection process for 2017.
Result
SSC publishes the results of SSC in various stages on its official website. After the completion of the examination, the SSC CGL results for Tier 1 2018 will end.
